It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since my good friends Rachael & Charles tied the knot! It was a long but incredibly fun day, shared between our brilliant group of friends from uni. For May the 6th, I want to wish you a very happy 1st anniversary! As this was the first wedding that I solo shot, it also happens to be my 1st anniversary as a wedding photographer! I wanted to celebrate the occasion by re-editing a few of my favourite photos from their day!
As I already take a lot of detail photos at weddings – flowers, rings, cakes – it’s been a very natural progression for Stewart Barker Photography to branch out into commercial photography. I will primarily be working closely with other York and Yorkshire based small and independent wedding suppliers. But I’ll also be providing product, property and event photography, plus headshots, to businesses of all sizes and industries. Music is a hugely important part of my life. The songs I love are a part of my everyday routine, they are the narrative to the best and worst of times. My taste in music is a big part of my identity, so it’s understandable that music goes hand in hand with my photography. Some days I can spend hours on my daily commute, working through admin and editing photos, so I can get through a lot of music sometimes!
A couple of weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sarah & Tom’s incredible wedding! Being all the way down in Ilfracombe, Devon, it was the furthest that Stewart Barker Photography has traveled so far for a wedding. I love visiting new places and meeting new people, and with the couple, their family and their friends all being so lovely, it was a perfect day!
