I can’t believe Tom and Sarah have been married for a whole year! Happy Anniversary you absolutely lovely pair. It was a pleasure to be a part of their beautiful Tunnels Beaches Wedding in Devon! Their friends and family traveled from as far as Australia to celebrate. And this is still my furthest away wedding so far, taking about 7 hours to drive from York!
That 7 hour drive was made even more interesting by The Beast from the East. We saw snow, thick fog, torrential rain, sun and 8 foot snowdrifts on the way south. The weather this year has been tame by comparison! But it was all worth it to photograph my first wedding at Tunnels Beaches.
It’s a stunning venue, based in it’s own private bay on the coast in Ilfracombe, Devon. So why is it called Tunnels Beaches you ask? Well, it has hand-carved Victorian tunnels that lead to the incredible modern venue! Tunnels Beaches also has the most stunning Black sand beaches (reminiscent of Iceland!).
Sarah’s breathtaking wedding dress is a Jesus Peiro piece from Elena Ferrara – also from York! Anyone who knows me knows that I have a bit of a soft spot for wedding flowers. The beautiful arrangements, provided by Sweet Williams Flowers, are some of my favourite to date. The food was also exceptional, with barbecue-style fresh meat and fish with incredible side dishes.
Tom and Sarah (and little Bernie the Italian Greyhound!) are now sunning it up in Australia! It probably won’t be your anniversary anymore when you see this, but Happy Anniversary! Thank you for inviting me to your amazing wedding!
I absolutely love travelling, and really enjoyed my visit to Tunnels Beaches. If you’re thinking of getting married there, I would love to talk wedding photography with you!
