It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since my good friends Rachael & Charles tied the knot! It was a long but incredibly fun day, shared between our brilliant group of friends from uni. For May the 6th, I want to wish you a very happy 1st anniversary! As this was the first wedding that I solo shot, it also happens to be my 1st anniversary as a wedding photographer! I wanted to celebrate the occasion by re-editing a few of my favourite photos from their day!
I strongly believe that I can only be at my best for customers by continuously improving and learning new techniques. So this process of going back and re-editing new photos was such an incredible creative experience. It’s hard to see progress as an artist day by day, but seeing how differently I edit the same photo just 1 year later is a huge indicator of the work that I’ve put in to improve my images.
Of course it’s very gratifying to see personal progress and hard work paying off, but that’s not the only reason I do it. By continuously learning and developing my wedding photography skills, I can offer my very best work to each an every couple, which makes me pretty happy!
Rachael & Charles did a fantastic job of organising their wedding, and they took DIY to a whole new level. The day was full of little details, and the amount of thought that had gone into every aspect of the day was incredible. Even though I was the wedding photographer, I was also there as a guest among friends. This was so important in shaping the idea that I wanted to be more than a wedding photographer – I don’t just take the pictures! I’m a part of each and every couple’s day, I talk to your family and friends, go and fetch umbrellas when it’s raining and much more!
All of their effort, and a brilliant weekend, definitely made the trip all the way from York to North Wales worth it! As much as I love North Yorkshire, I also love to be a travelling wedding photographer, so getting the opportunity to see new places is one of the many benefits that comes with the job!
Congratulations again Rachael & Charles!
